We’re seeking an energetic research intern to assist the firm with the situational and financial analysis of a variety of investment opportunities, ranging from early-stage start-up investments, private placements, structured investment products and public equities. During the course of the internship, the intern will utilize their understanding of economic factors, strategy and policy, relative valuation and financial analysis to assist the principal and managers in evaluating and making investment and business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Researching and analyzing the impact of economic trends and events on country and industry returns
- Evaluating and presenting key takeaways on market observations, risks, and value drivers
- Compilation and analysis of relevant market data from Bloomberg and other research databases to produce industry and economic forecasts, and company-specific pro-forma financial statements
- Strategic and situational analysis of individual companies
- Interpreting investment prospectuses, shareholder agreements and term sheets, and identifying potential investment downsides and legal risks
- Reading and assessing sell-side investment recommendations and reports
- Due diligence on operational business plans and direct investment opportunities
- Structuring execution for investments based on research and analysis
- Other investment-related activities that involve analysis, execution, implementation or evaluation
Requirements
- Enjoys reading, performing data analysis, and forecasting
- Executional accuracy and strong attention to detail
- A strong sense of curiosity and professional drive
- Ability to work in a team and excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with R or comparable statistical software and Bloomberg terminal usage is a plus
- 3rd or 4th year Undergraduate or Masters students studying in a course related to Business/Finance/Accounting/Economics are preferred
- Ability to travel overseas if necessary
- Ability to commit full-time to a 3-month internship or longer
