Job Description
The intern will help with the general duties of the newsdesk including searching and writing on stories with links to the chemicals/petrochemicals/oil industry such as new deals between companies, start-ups/shutdowns of plants, economic data such as import and export information as well as GDP forecasts, new acquisitions/mergers of companies, reports by research firms and brokerages, central bank and IPO annoucements, stock exchange filings, new governmental tariffs (tax), policy and regulation, environmental disasters and bad weather reports, health issues and even protests.
This is a great internship to learn about the basics of business journalism. Past interns have covered events, conferences and press briefings.
Key requirements:
- Applicants must have excellent command of English and writing skills
- Experience in journalism will be an advantage
