You are a talented and youthful individual who is able to work well in a fast-paced editorial environment. You will be assisting the Editor and Assistant editor in developing an innovative online content strategy to engage youth, and to ensure quality and relevant online content. You will have the opportunity to conceptualise youth interest stories, cover dedicated editorial beats and media events, interview personalities, as well as manage Youth.SG’s website. You will also mentor our editorial interns, copy-edit content, assist in public engagement, as well as source and manage external contributors and partnerships with corporate organisations.
To achieve these, you are well plugged in to the youth scene and you can catch up with youth trends as quickly as they evolve. You know what makes youth tick and how to catch their attention. You are a prolific writer to begin with, have a keen news sense and are able to spot story ideas anywhere.
Requirements:
· Diploma or Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, English/Literature, or equivalent.
· Excellent knowledge of youth trends and a keen news sense.
· Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and online culture.
· Excellent English writing skills and ability to tell a story engagingly.
· Strong practical knowledge of editorial processes, copyediting, design, photography, photo-editing and video-editing is advantageous.
· Familiarity with CMS for web operations is preferred.
· Able to think out of the box to engage youth, through stories, photos, videos, and other creative means.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
