- The software engineer is primarily responsible for the development and execution of the Android or related platform services for the VODOKE system.
Software Development
• Ensure timely development and updates on platform and to provide their supervisor with a monthly update on the progress
• Provide market intelligence on competing technology to management
• Manage client relationships
• Support Sales Team in presentations
• Understand the market and competitive activity in detail
• Keep abreast of industry news, progress and related technologies
• Assist supervisor in adhoc matters
Requirements:
• Fluent in Java/C/C++.
• Thorough understanding of design patterns and software architecture.
• Experience in developing commercial applications on Android.
• Experience in full lifecycle, team-based development work.
• Created commercial native Android apps that are in the app store or Android market and that connect to web services.
• Create a compelling interaction with attention to detail.
• Familiar with Interface guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Assist supervisor in adhoc matters
Desired Skills - Any of these would be a plus, but are not essential:
• Experience working on ASP.NET, J2EE/JSP, Spring Framework and related Web Application technology will be an advantage.
• Experience of using media (video/audio) libraries such as FFmpeg.
• Understanding of common video codec and transport protocol (MPEG-2/H.264,HLS/UDP).
• Experience of working in an agile environment.
• Experience in creating frameworks, templates and documentation for others to use.
• Create scalable web pages with HTML5, CSS and Javascript.
• Experience on understanding usability issues, user testing, wire-framing.
