VML Qais Singapore started operations in 2003, initially as Qais Consulting. In 2011, it re-launched as VML Qais, bringing together what was the biggest independent digital agency in Singapore with the best global digital network. VML Qais Singapore is based out of a shophouse in Stanley Street. It is on the borderline between the narrow old streets of Chinatown to one side, and the skyscrapers of the Central Business District on the other. A second office has recently been opened around the corner to cater to the growth in the business. Planned as a war room, it has since been named (appropriately enough) Sparta.- Job Description
- This Intern supports the technology research and minor undertakings of the Technology Team. He/she inherits designs that have been carefully planned by the User Experience and Creative teams and find the most effective and engaging method of implementation. He/She also works closely with Business and Planning teams to identify suitable technologies for different creative briefs and projects.Key Responsibilities1. Validate the technical feasibility of designs provided by the User Experience and Creative teams2. Apply modern HTML/CSS/JS techniques to develop the designs to the compliance required of the Project3. Work with simple web and mobile based APIs (E.g. Social Media, CRMs, etc)4. Analyze and recommend technologies for application to the Project and Business teams5. Work with various teams to configure management systems via its management interfaces (E.g. EDM, Ad Platforms, CMS, etc)6. Champion the quality of the solution by leading and performing quality assurance duties7. Champion VML Qais’ reputation and credibility in the client organization8. Other duties as the Company may reasonably specify from time to time.Expected Skills and Experience1. Candidate should possess at least a relevant diploma (or currently undertaking)2. At least 1 year of experience in the field of Software Development3. Good understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies4. Strong experience in modern HTML/CSS/JS techniques, including:a. HTML Slicingb. CSS Preprocessors (E.g. LESS/SASS)c. Frameworks (E.g. Bootstrap, Foundation, jQuery, etc)d. Front-end coding conventions (E.g. SEO, Open Graph, HTTP Response codes, etc)5. Good communication skills including ability to influence and communicate to internal teams6. Keen to explore new technologies7. Team player and strong independent contributor8. Able to manage multiple projects concurrently9. Preferred basic understanding of backend technologies.
