The Sankofa Center is a California-based organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. The organization maintains HIV/AIDS education & prevention services in Ghana, West Africa. The organization uses a unique artistic approach to health education serving over 50,000 people during its decade long tenure. Headquartered in state of the art " Silicone Valley" of California , our base serves as the hub for all marketing, promotion, P/R, and business development projects for the organization's various initiatives. Home to major companies such as Yahoo, Google, Facebook, & major foundations our organization is centrally located for prime business partnership and sponsorship. Among headquarter functions is the promotion of the organization's vibrant product line, corporate sponsorship program, and tuition-based internship programs both in California; and in Ghana. International interns selected for the internship program in California come from Canada, France, Singapore, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM-
For Advanced Students
Selected interns build their professional and real-world experience as key contributors to the organization's marketing & public relations campaigns in California. In today's competitive employment climate it is essential to hone skills to be the best. Therefore, our "Marketing & Public Relations Internship" selects the best students for our cohorts.
This program entails being taught to implement the following strategic growth strategies for the organization:
Networking with local, national, and international businesses for sponsorship & partnership Creating and implementing presentations for local supporters in the San Francisco Bay Area Building the organization’s presence through public relation campaigns, field presentations at events, trade shows, markets,& public image creation through social media and blogging Working with our team to plan, create, and implement marketing campaigns Assisting with the planning of our annual “Friends of The Sankofa Center” Gala event in San FranciscoInterns: A limited number of applicants will be selected from a variety of countries to intern at our headquarters in California. This is an non-paid internship program.
Tuition: 1 month program $1,500
2 month program: $2,000
3 month program: $3,000
(Interns must also secure sponsorship for internship stays in the U.S. longer than 90 days)
4 month program: $4,000
5 month program: $5,000
6 month program: $6,000
Tuition/Program Fee Covers:
-Pick-up/Drop-off at SFO International airport upon arrival/departure
- Dorm-style , same-gender bedroom accommodation with other interns in modern & secure luxury Californian apartment
-Bathroom, living room, and full kitchen access, it’s your home away from home
- Utilities: including trash, water, electricity, and Wi-Fi internet
