The Middle Ground is a Singapore news portal helmed by veteran journalist Bertha Henson. Launching mid-June 2015, it will cover socio-political commentary in Singapore, news, opinions and lifestyle topics.
The Middle Ground is an arena for those in the middle, whether in outlook or age. A news/views/news-you-can-use portal for the neglected and ignored who form the mainstream in Singapore.
Job Description
- Conduct interviews, take photographs, attend press conferences and cultivate sources to break news and views stories
- Do fact-checking and other necessary background work to strengthen stories
- Take assignments and orders from the Editor and report to the Editor
- File stories from the field and from the newsroom
- Maintain and enhance the editorial style of TMG
- Work with the editorial team to create content for TMG
- Provide editorial support for advertising/sponsor requirements
- Where possible, optimize content across TMG’s platforms, including social media
- Other ad-hoc duties as necessary
