At Starr E.T.C. , we believe in grooming each and every employee, including interns with the company.  With this objective in mind, we have come up with 3 categories of skills training for all employees.  These 3 categories will provide your interns with the necessary skills to prepare them for future job opportunities as well as personal growth.

1.Leadership & People Management

Besides being exposed to leadership courses, interns will have an opportunity to experience good leadership and people management styles on the job.  They will also be given opportunities at Starr E.T.C. to take on leadership roles and apply what they have learnt from school and from the course. We allow interns to helm projects and let them experience what it is like to manage and handle projects and how to work with people and as a team to get the project done well.  By leading the projects, the interns will have a taste of how theory they have learnt about people management skills from courses can be applied in real life. 

2.Business Management

This module relates to how interns can pick up sales techniques and marketing skills.   Although the interns cannot directly interact with the customer to make a sales pitch, they can pick up some skills on how to market a product and sales techniques to make a sale.  These are valuable life skills as the interns can learn how to package and market their abilities to stand out in future interview opportunities.

*There will be no direct sales involved during the internship

3.Service Excellence

Singapore’s only resource is its people.  As such, Service Excellence has to be an integral part of our lives.  Customers’ requirements differ and view matters from different angles.  We provide training on Customer Service for interns which will allow them to learn how to handle various categories of customers well.  Coaching on appropriate responses to customers as well as how to handle objections will come is useful both at work and in their personal life.

We strongly believe that by joining our Internship Programme, your students will benefit from the training and learn invaluable life skills to give them the additional edge needed to excel in the working world. 

Job Description
  • Support in marketing activities * no direct sales involved
  • Assist in customer acquisition 
  • Assist in planning and execution of new business development
  • Attend all meetings and trainings provided internally and externally
  • Weekly study group to analyze various financial plans

Areas that you will be trained in include:

·         Decision Management

·         Sales Process and Environment

·         Legal Aspects

·         Planning for Business Owners and Professionals

Requirements:

“A” Levels / Recognized Diploma from local Polytechnics (Private Diploma subjected to evaluation)

Excellent leadership, interpersonal communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

Fluent verbally in english and mandarin
