Being an intern at Occasions means you will be a fully integrated member of our business team. You will be in a 12-24 week paid, full-time internship. You will be assigned an intern manager who will help identify project goals, inspire, mentor you and support your professional development. In addition, you will participate in other programmes to ensure you have a productive experience at Occasions that helps you grow both your personal and professional skills.
The Marketing & Social Media Internship is open to students from both business and marketing academic disciplines.
The Marketing & Social Media Intern will directly assist the Marketing Manager with a wide range of projects related to Marketing. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school or particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Marketing can play in a Food and Facilities Management services company, and be better prepared to work in the arena of the marketing and services industry.
The candidate will also have opportunities to network and work closely with other departments such as Sales, Operations, Finance, and other support function staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research on branding & competitive analysis
- Conduct feedback or survey with our customers
- Liaise with designer on artwork and printer on printing and installation
- Assist in the creation of e-mail campaigns, social media advertising, print ads, branding ideas etc.
- Engaging with marketing teams on a regular basis to brainstorm ideas for new and innovative marketing and social media campaigns.
- Assist in the delivery of marketing materials.
- Seek and analyse competitor marketing and sales materials both on- and offline.
- Provide support to social media efforts.
- Provision of research direction and assist in strategy for marketing and campaigns/roadshows.
- Proactive intern to assist with event operations in coordination, sales follow-up, basic administration and - simple copywriting of marketing promotions.
Skills & Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
- Good written and oral communication and strong presentation/creative skills; Demonstrate ability to express ideas clearly and appropriately
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively under minimum supervision
- Keen and passionate with strong desire to work and learn
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and illustrator is favourable
- Basic CSS/HTML knowledge is a big plus!
