Company Profile
We are an award winning non-profit social enterprise founded in Singapore. Our aim is to end
energy poverty in rural Indonesia through women empowerment.

At NDI, we do ‘non-profit’ differently. We value innovative thinking coupled with the spirit of
being able to ‘get things done’ and a business-like mindset to ensure that we are delivering the
greatest impact in a sustainable, measurable and efficient manner.

1 out of 4 Indonesians do not have access to a clean, safe and affordable source of light. Many
rural women also do not have meaningful job opportunities. Our vision is to empower rural
women so they can bring lifesaving goods like solar lamps to their communities and beyond,
hence tackling the problem of energy poverty.

NDI has received recognition in international competitions such as the Global Social Venture
Competition 2013, Dell Social Innovation Challenge 2012, and UN Women Singapore-
MasterCard Project Inspire 2012. In May 2013, we won 2nd
prize in the prestigious Start  Up@Singapore competition. In September 2013, we won the Grand Prize in the Young Social Enterprise Forum, held during the Asia Pacific Cities Summit in Taiwan.
