GTI Media Asia – Editorial Internship

We're not going to lie - you'll be very busy! You will mainly be contributing editorial for our publications and websites. Some of your tasks will include:

• Researching employers and specific industry sectors, and summarising your findings in accurate yet easy-to-understand copy
• Fact-checking and updating articles
• Writing original content for print, web, and social media
• Contacting clients and industry experts for input into our articles via phone and e-mail
• Interviewing sources for articles over the phone or face-to-face
• Managing and optimising content using our online content management system
• Providing support for other ad-hoc editorial and marketing duties

Your appointment with us will be for 3 months. This can, however, be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

We hire for skills, not by degree discipline. That being said, you must:

• Be able to complete in-depth, detailed research and summarise your findings clearly (a lot of your work will involve in-depth research)
• Be accurate and have excellent attention to detail
• Be organised and persistent
• Be confident enough to interview contributors over the phone or face-to-face if required
• Be able to keep calm under pressure
• Be self-aware – so you know when to ask for help
• Be a good team member
• Be able to think on your feet and take the initiative
• Have a strong command of written and spoken English (in both formal and chatty, informal styles)
• Be able to interpret and analyse data – including statistics and business reports
• Have professional telephone and e-mail conduct

• You’ll gain experience working within a media company, and a full overview of how a publishing business operates.
• You’ll receive thorough editorial training, and have the chance to have your work published on paper and online.
• You'll gain valuable experience in business journalism, online publishing, and market research.
• Depending on your performance, you may be provided with the opportunity to visit our Malaysian office on business.
• You'll get valuable exposure to various employers and their graduate recruitment activities in Singapore, which will assist you tremendously when you look for work in the future!
• At the end of your internship, we’ll work with you to help you present the experience on your CV!
