INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (R&D)

This internship programme is a 12-months internship programme that provides you with specialised R&D know how and textile industry experience, opening your way to great opportunities in your career.

Reporting to the Senior Research Technologist based in Singapore, you are required to:

-Prepare dye formulations to be tested on various materials.
-Planning and execute finishing and practical dyeing tests in line with work instructions.
-Calculate operational quantities, construction and dismantling of laboratory equipment, measuring and weighing of chemicals.
-Implement application tests, experimental observation and analysis of experiments through basic operation of laboratory techniques.
-Analyse and investigate textile dyes and their precursors (HPLC, GC, DC, determination of material characteristics), including sample preparation and analysis of test results.
-Compile test results, observations and analytical and physico-chemical investigations as well as simple experimental evaluation.
-Document all tests performed in the laboratory journal and data bases.
-Perform general laboratory work (cleaning, repair and maintenance of equipment and laboratories, ensure correct disposal of waste).
-Organise work flow in the application laboratory (co-ordination of work processes, procurement of equipment,chemicals and consumable, administration of experimental samples and chemicals, monitoring of test materials).
-Conduct proper implementation of tests adhering strictly to rules and regulations directed from your supervisor.
-Ensure safe work environment adhering strictly to rules and regulations.
-Ensure required quality is strictly attained.
-Manage the experimental protocols.
-Ensure cleanliness of the workplace.

Do you have what it takes?
-Fresh Polytechnic Diploma Holder in Chemistry or relevant discipline or pursuing a Diploma in the same.
-No working experience or less than one year’s work experience.
-Alert, with good observation and practical skills, good knowledge of the properties of chemical substances used, particularly formulations.
-Consciousness of quality management and quality assurance.
-Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Regulations and implementing such regulations.
-Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
