Job Description
Established in 1980s as a small and humble trading company dealing in acrylic product, Dama has since grown to become a leading acrylic distributor and stockist in Singapore. Interior/Product/Industrial Designer (Intern)
An opportunity for an interior/product/industrial design intern to join one of Singapore’s largest plastics suppliers. Our customers include furniture designers, interior designers, product designers, builders, contractors and architects.
Job Purpose:
The intern will support our fabrication and sales team in providing design insight to the customers and developing product design strategy.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, production and sales in development of new product designs and strategy.
Identify new applications for a range of plastic materials and lighting systems.
Typical work time frame for this for 3 months but we can be flexible and will work with your needs.
Desired Profile:
Enrolled on a design related course either in interior design, architecture, product design or industrial design.
Some experience with product development is desirable.
Interested in using a range of materials to develop innovative and exciting solutions for a range of customers.
Creative and innovative.
Ability to prioritise own work and well organised
Good communication skills
Knowledge and fluency in English and Mandarin
Good at problem solving
Skills in Adobe CS5, (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) would be desired.
Use of CorelDraw would be ideal.
Familiar with a range of fabrication processes such as laser cutting and CNC machining would ideal.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft office software (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) needed.
