Cheftains is a new ready-to-cook gourmet meal delivery service in Singapore. Our customers select from a menu of restaurant-quality meals updated weekly with new recipes. Following this, we will source, portion and deliver fresh ingredients required for the meal of choice along with simple step-by-step instructions to prepare the meal in under 45 minutes.
Job Description
Cheftains is looking for an industrious and resourceful digital marketing/editorial ninja for a hands-on internship where you will have the opportunity to work in a start-up environment; supported by an award-winning design agency Words Worth Media Management. This role will involve plenty of creativity, writing and good (but not necessarily healthy!) food, unruly-behind the-scenes website functions and exposure to various facets of a fast-growing business.
Working closely and reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will:
• Produce and edit clever, useful online food-related content/technique how-tos, product reviews/ingredient and recipe write ups for our weekly blog posts, products and digital/social media marketing campaigns.
• Produce and edit repackaged content for partner and sponsor products where necessary.
• Manage current social media accounts, monitor and support social media conversations on our social channels and participate when appropriate.
• Assist in analyzing and reporting on social media related metrics and think of creative ways to actively grow our mailing list.
• Assist with weekly photo/video shoots including: shopping, food prep/styling, taste-testing and photography.
• Community management with a smile: corresponding and trouble-shooting with clients via email, responding actively to comments and cooking questions on our media channels.
• Work with our web developer to document bugs and suggest improvements to the website as well as help maintain and update it with weekly content.
• Research and contact gourmet food brands, suppliers, popular home chefs/social media influencers and restaurants for recipe contributions and think of innovative ways for partnerships and collaboration.
• Assist with any media/press queries.
• Help with other ad-hoc project management projects.
Requirements
This position is ideal for a tech-savvy, entrepreneurial self-starter who is proactive, a keen problem solver, a team player, a strong writer, and an effective multi-tasker. With a packed weekly operations schedule, this candidate is expected to get into the thick of things to offer help where it is needed.
He/She would ideally meet the following requirements:
• Writing experience (published clips and/or personal blog)
• Experience with content management systems a major plus (any blogging counts!)
• Previous experience with online branding building and managing social media for a publication/brand a major plus
• A genuine passion for social media and engaged on various platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram
• Loves food, appreciates the importance of home cooking
• Cooking/kitchen experience a plus (some combination of culinary school or other professional cooking experience)
• Meticulous editor, perfectionist, obsessive attention to detail, maddened by typos and broken links, delighted by finding and fixing them
• Cheerful under pressure, doesn’t get discouraged by online negativity
• Excellent communication skills
• A+ multi-tasker and juggler of responsibilities big and small
• Loves problem-solving and collaborating to drive Cheftains forward
• Thinks big picture but pitches in on the nitty gritty of running a small company (operations, shopping, administrative support)
• Comfortable with the realities of working for a startup: being on call on evenings and weekends, and working long hours (we hope not often!)
