Bequest was incorporated by lawyers and finance professionals to dispense estate planning advice to high net worth individuals as well as consult with business owners on matters regarding business succession planning.
Bequest also provides will writing services, trust deeds and assistance with setting up charitable and family trusts, advice and lodgment of lasting powers of attorney (LPA) and the Advanced Medical Directive (AMD) to assist our clients with their end-life preparation measures.
Bequest is looking for interns who can perform the role of Junior Estate Analyst. Briefly, this role entails both advisory and analytical functions when examining and understanding the personal estates of our clients and producing reports and solutions to create robust estate plans to be implemented in their wills.
The program is very hands-on: Interns will be expected to sit in at meetings with clients, and after the initial training and certification phase, handle such meetings on their own. They will also be expected to assist in business acquisition activities and event and seminar coordination duties.
Expectations are described in greater detail as follows:
- Sit in at client meetings with the Bequest legal-estate planning team to learn basic business communication skills
- Obtain clients’ asset lists to produce estate analysis reports and net worth statements
- Canvass for estate planning seminars with MNCs and government agencies
- Network with SME owners to coordinate business succession planning workshops
- Deal with incoming client enquiries through email and other enquiry channels
- Participate in “live” customer acquisition activities
- Perform customer relationship management (CRM) duties for Bequest clients
- Prepare financial reviews and reports for upcoming client review sessions
- Attend proprietary workshops by internal trainers from the legal and finance sector to learn about various aspects of contract and business law, corporate finance, personal financial management, estate and trust law and structures and corporate insolvency
Prerequisites for Enrolling in the Program
- Singaporean citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- For males: Must have completed NSF liability
- Must have passed GCE ‘A’ levels in at least three ‘H2’ and two ‘H1’ subjects or been awarded a diploma by a polytechnic in Singapore or hold an International Baccalaureate Diploma qualification
- Must have no prior or pending convictions in Singapore or in any other jurisdiction for any criminal offences
- No adverse credit history and cannot be an undischarged bankrupt
