Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water and sugar to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Ensure that all drinks are prepared according to company recipes.
Serves wine, liquor, draft of bottled beer, and food to bar guests.
Ensure daily bar inventories correspond with bar register totals.
Collect payment for drinks and/or food served following company established accounting procedures for all transactions.
Guides and make recommendations to guests in food and beverage selection.
Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
Enters all orders into POS prior to presenting the beverage to the guest.
Secures and balance all monies at the end of each shift.
Ensure a clean and well-stocked bar and adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Keeps immediate supervisor informed promptly and fully of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary and/or suggests alternative courses of action in which may be taken.
Experience and Qualifications
'N' Levels, 'O' Levels equivalent or higher
Proficiency in English Language
Competencies/Skills Set
Must be a team player and possess good communication skills.
Possess proficient knowledge of liquor quality and beverage preparation, and keeps updated on new and revised beverage recipes.
Able to withstand frequent immersion of hands in water.
Ability to effectively request and review identification for age verification from each guest, as required by state and local laws.
Able to handle intoxicated guests and respond calmly that calls to the attention of manager.
