Job Description
The Helpdesk Support Engineer (HSE) is
primarily responsible for the support Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) platform. The HSE acts as the technical interface to end-users for
service requests, remote diagnosis, problem determination and resolution.
The HSE will spend a majority of their time
working on calls and issues, from problem determination, identification and
isolation through to satisfactory resolution. These calls and issues may include
applications and operational related situations. The pace would be quite hectic
and stressful at times.
As such, it will be advantageous if the
candidate possesses an understanding of trouble-ticketing and Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) systems. The HSE will also perform analysis of
calls statistics and trends to provide proactive and preventive services in
order to improve operational availability and service levels.
The HSE may also be involved, and perform
project implementation activities such as system assurance, installation,
rollout and IMAC for end-users in order to gain a better understanding of the
environment. The HSE might need to move around Desktop PCs, printers, office
equipment and checking of LAN points in dirty environment, Projectors in the
ceiling and dismantling of office equipment for troubleshooting on a regular
basis. The HSE will have to be physically able to support these works.
PRE-REQUISITES
- Technical education, preferably at least a recognize IT diploma
- 1 year experience in providing Helpdesk services, and familiar with any Call Management Systems.
- Understands the concept of system and network monitoring.
- 2 years experience in IT infrastructure, such as LAN, WAN, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Automation software.
- Experience in Avaya phone systems, Remote Desktop Login, Citrix, MS Access and Vbscript will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Able to converse in English both written and spoken.
