The number of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines overtook the death toll on Wednesday as the Department of Health (DOH) reported that cases nationwide jumped to 5,453 with 230 new infections.
A record-high 58 more patients have also recovered from the respiratory disease, bringing the total recoveries to 353.
Meanwhile, the DOH reported 14 new deaths for a total of 349.
Data from the DOH as of Tuesday show that the country’s COVID-19 testing centers have so far conducted 38,103 tests, 85.2 percent of which came out negative while 14.7 percent turned out positive.
