Company Profile

A purveyor of arts education, community arts programs and engaging the youth, The Playtent was conceived from a common mission:

For Every Emerging Artist.

The Playtent continually seeks to be a catalyst to foster connection and interest in the arts to those who have not been exposed, or who want it but simply cannot afford it.

Through various community initiatives such as the popular Art Rojak! $10 Workshops, Beyond The Book Series, Open Mic Sessions and partnering with other communities such as the Etsy Craft Party and Yelp Elite Events, The Playtent sees a wide demographic of people come through its doors, from children to teens, young working adults to parents, and even grandparents!

The Playtent’s community initiatives encourage new learning experiences, foster belonging, uncover talent and provide a home for artists and emerging artists to explore and cultivate their work.

We believe in passing it on, in sharing oppurtunities, knowledge, and the good things. This ultimately fosters a culture of giving, caring and sharing.

The Playtent is run by directors Jean Low, Rebecca Lee and Claire Devine.

Job Description
The Playtent is proud to present: Play Me, I'm Yours, a global art installation project. Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram.

Reaching over six million people worldwide – more than 1,300 pianos have already been installed in 46 cities across the globe, from New York to London, bearing the simple instruction ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’.

25 painted and decorated pianos will be placed around Singapore – open and free to the public to play and enjoy. There will also be complementary events organised including free workshops for the public and music events.
‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ is a non-profit community project. At the end of the exhibition, the pianos will be donated to charity. Some pianos will be listed for auction and the proceeds will be donated to various charitable organisations where their monetary need is greater.

We are looking for passionate individuals who want to be involved in this meaningful community arts & music project to bring it to fruition.
