Job Description

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Learning and Development (L&D) team oversees all learning and development programs, systems and practices and drives the company’s award-winning career development program in Starwood Asia Pacific.

The intern will work closely with Starwood Asia Pacific Headquarters’ Learning and Development (L&D) team. The nature of work will entail supporting the team in both project management and program innovation aspects of L&D. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and facilitating activities between the Director of L&D, AD and Managers of L&D including meetings, schedules, etc.
  • Managing L&D programs as well as talent management activities including registration, administration and logistic/venue arrangements   
  • Liaising with new build and transitions hotels to ensure contracts are created, distributed and followed up on accurately and timely
  • Maintaining divisional training calendar, team productivity reports, updated L&D curriculum versions as well as inventory management of L&D and talent management materials
  • Processing L&D related payment and keeping track of L&D expenses
  • Having full oversight and responsibility for maintaining our talent management online system/database
  • Utilizing our analytics value chain and tools to report, analyze, and distill actionable insights from L&D data and metrics that help inform company-wide decisions
  •  Supporting associate engagement projects such as maintenance of our associate communication web portal


REQUIREMENTS

You should be a high-potential intern who is passionate, committed and keen to establish a career in the hospitality industry and/or Human Resources discipline with the following attributes:

  • Able to commit for a 6-month full time internship
  • Undergraduate in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Business Management, Marketing, or Hospitality major preferred
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and action-biased environment
  • Detailed-oriented, structured, and organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
