The intern will assist in providing operational support in various development activities to the divisional and regional offices. Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the compilation of research material in relation to a specific project or more generally about the hospitality industry.
- Assist in the preparation of market research document in relation to Starwood’s entry into new markets.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations or RFP about Starwood’s brands.
- Assist in compiling the Horwath deal signing and deal opening form in ROA and China on a quarterly basis.
- Be responsible for putting a model together to map out and track opening of competitive new hotels throughout the ROA region.
- Assist in preparing the deal log report on a monthly basis.
- Assist in preparing the STR Pipeline Database Report on a quarterly basis.
- Opportunities to be involved with Starwood Care special projects.
Requirements:
You should be a high-potential intern who is passionate, committed and keen to establish a career in the hospitality industry with the following attributes:
- Able to commit for at least 6 months from June to December 2016
- Conscientious with an eye for details
- Proactive and works with a sense of purpose and urgency
- Desire to learn and be challenged to learn new skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word applications
- Ability to work on projects independently
- Confidence generating new ideas or ways to approach work assigned
- Good project management skills, organized and communicates progress
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to flex style
- Team Player
- Prior experience in a consulting company or as a teaching assistant for Development-related subjects would be preferred
