Job Description

Summary:

Digital Design and Verification of Silicon Lab’s EFM32TM Gecko 32-bit microcontroller designs for ultra-low power applications, using ARM Cortex processors.

Intern Project Focus:

The intern will be working on a live EFM32 project focusing on design and verification. The intern will work on the design of ultra low power interface peripherals and explore alternative design techniques for low power improvements. The intern will create new system level tests covering corner test scenarios, run extensive simulations on the design to fully verify correct operation before fabrication.

The objective of the position is to improve the efficiency and quality of the design for 1st pass success.

Responsibilities:

·         Design of ultra low power interface peripheral (USB-HS, Quad-SPI, Flex-logic, etc)

·         Develop Test Plan, create test scenarios and verify

·         Explore alternative design techniques for low power improvements

·         Document and review the work with the rest of the team periodically

·         Work efficiently with the team

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge and experience in:

    • Digital design and Verification, Scripting (Perl, TCL etc)

  • Above average skills in: 

    • System Verilog, C,

  • Excellent skills in: 

    • Verilog language, Verilog simulation

  • Demonstrated ability to:  

    • Work under defined timeline and deliver quality results

  • General knowledge of:

    • ARM processors, AMBA simulation environment

Experience and Education:

  • Degree, Major: Electrical and Electronics Engineering

  • Specialized training in: Integrated Circuit design (Digital design) preferred
