SFIC Institute, a subsidiary of the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) started off as a training and development initiative for the furniture industry in 2004. It was privatised in October 2010 to cope with the growing needs for human resources and talent development. This is to ensure the furniture industry’s long-term viability and sustainability goals are met.

We partner closely with industry and international experts to ensure that our programmes are abreast with the latest trends and developments. Our programmes are experiential, practical and relevant. To cater to the needs of the industry, we offer a holistic range of courses and services which include areas such as human resources consultancy; recruitment services; training and development and design-centric workshops. We partner with various governmental agencies such as NTUC’s e2i, SPRING Singapore, Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) etc; tapping on their funding support to ensure that SFIC Institute offers the best values programmes and initiatives to our customers.
The Business Development team’s main responsibility is to meet sales targets. The team will also help to gather feedbacks from clients to have a good understanding of the market’s needs and developments and work closely with the Marketing team to develop the relevant training programmes for the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business plans and sales strategy for the market while ensuring attainment of company’s sales goals and profitability
- Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new marketsProvide timely feedbacks to senior management regarding performance
- Representing the organization at trade exhibitions and events
- Provides timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
- Prepare and conduct proposal presentations to prospective clients
- Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
- To prospect calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closing sales
- Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager, SFIC Institute and Executive Director, SFIC
Qualifications
Years of Experience : At least 3 years of experience in a sales related role
Qualification : Diploma/Degree
Language : Bilingual (English and Mandarin) to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates
