Company Profile

Fast And Safe Technology Pte Ltd (FAST) was founded in 2001 by a team of engineers who are highly-passionate about digital security. Headed by Mr Desmond Hsu and Dr Joe Qiao, FAST started with data encryption solutions for Military use. Due to the excellence of its technology, its solutions were quickly adopted by the Banking & Finance sector and by security-conscious Government Agencies.
The founding members were mainly from Kent Ridge Digital Laboratory (KRDL), now part of the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), an A*STAR organisation. Since its founding, FAST has delivered millions of dollars of hardware-based cryptographic products to the security markets in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China.

2004

FAST reviewed its business strategy and decided to move into the consumer and SME markets when it realized that there was a lack of good data encryption products in these sectors. They foresaw that there would be an increase in demand for data encryption and privacy protection products, especially when Cloud Computing emerges in the market.

2005

FAST introduced the world’s first hardware-based consumer data encryption product called easySafe. This product targets the majority of the non-technical PC user market worldwide. After one year of marketing trials and learning from customer feedback, FAST officially launched easySafe in 2006. FAST also filed the first patent to protect the design of the product. Since then FAST has sold easySafe in more than 20 countries in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East.

2009

A re-design of the easySafe product was done to address the user issue of a forgotten PIN or a loss of the easySafe device. FAST then filed a second patent to protect the newly developed features.

2014

FAST launched its next generation product, SecretKIY, which aims to give data owners 100% control over their data security as it eradicates the need to involve others. SecretKIY even incorporates a patented method for users to retrieve their encrypted data should they forget their PIN or lose the device.
The company continues to invest millions in R&D because it believes that the best way to serve its customers well is to stay ahead of global security trends with the best cryptographic technology in the world.

Job Description
You will act as KIY's voice within our user community, creating and building relationships with our users and distributors. You will build new relationships with PMEBs and individuals who has their data stored on 3rd party platform (like Dropbox, Google Drive, Office365). Maybe you'd like to start your own business and you want to see how the business world and data privacy industry is like. You're all about solving problems, and you're able to think on your feet, working independently to just get it done.

You could be responding to a query about how to use the product or build a distribution channel. No matter what the questions or experiences our customers and distributors share with us, you will delight them with the manner and speed of our response.

Due to the small nature of the team in Singapore you will also be afforded the opportunity to take the lead on other projects across all aspects of the business from operations to marketing, depending on requirements. Being groomed to join us as permanent staff on full time basis is our goal for our interns.
This position is already closed and no longer available.  You may like to view the other latest internships here.
