Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking for a Workshop Designer Intern to join the DW Workshop team in Singapore. In this role, candidate will assist and work with workshop designers to research, design and scale innovative hands-on workshops such as concrete making and paper pleating.

They will be trained to be a hands-on design instructors, taking concepts forward and master the skills to physicalise various household and wearable products. They will also be working in the front line to implement, provide and conduct inspiring and experiential workshops for the general public.

Opportunities will be given for collaboration with the marketing team to generate ideas and to create supporting graphical collaterals for the workshop. Workshop Designer Intern will be given a chance to dabble with layout, typography and photography through the course of their internship.


Responsibilities

  • Assists workshop designers to conduct the workshops while guiding and inspiring the participants
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to participants attending the workshops
  • Create and manage a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for participants
  • Establish relationships and mutual respect and rapport with participants
  • Respond to participants’ questions and requests professionally
  • Research on hands-on design tutorials and workshops available to master new skills and keep up to date with current trends
  • Internalise, adapt and develop research for actual design and production of handmade crafts and objects
  • Sourcing and selecting materials appropriate to the design
  • Develop, design and deliver progress documentation and presentations for workshops
  • Assist in product and space photography sessions for website and collaterals
  • Prepare work for sale and exhibition
