RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Design Interns can expect to learn and work with a Silicon Valley trained product and engineering team who believes in putting User Experience as the primary focus. Main tasks for the intern will be on Product Design, while supporting with Communications Design as needed.
Product Design
- Work with the community management team to understand user problems and behavior
- Brainstorm product features and tweaks to solve problems or delight users
- Learn to create userflows and wireframes using tools like Omnigraffle and Balsamiq to discuss and iterate with team internally
- Create mockups using Photoshop and iterate with team internally and with selected group of users to obtain feedback
- Work with the software engineers to develop the feature and make the tweaks
- Assist with the creation of assets using Photoshop and preparing them for use in the app
- Experience shipping features/designs for an app that is used millions of times each month
Communications Design
- On occasion, designers may be asked to assist with marketing collaterals
- Support the community management team with the designing of posters, swag, and campaign banners, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for simple, functional and inspiring design
- Interactive Media Design/Visual Communication/Graphic Design Education (currently pursuing is fine too)
- Familiar with tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and other related tools
- User Experience first design approach
- Desire to create work that challenges gold standards
- Hardworking problem solver and keen to learn independently to deliver results
- Bonus: You want to design an app or website better than the likes of Instagram/Square/Path/Foursquare.
