Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Possess proficient knowledge of the menu in order to explain our offerings to the Guests; inform them of current specials and food promotions, and answers to enquiries.
2. Accurately write food and beverage orders on Guest tickets and enters order into POS quickly and in proper sequence, using appropriate abbreviations and charges.
3. Serves food and beverages to Guests in a timely manner, which includes retrieving food orders from kitchen and transporting them to the Guests in the servers' section, as well as for any other section in the restaurant.
4. Able to assess guest demeanor and identify when behavior should be called to the attention of a Manager.
5. Follow alcohol awareness procedures for identifying age, preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
6. Collect payment (credit cards, cash) for drinks and/or food served following company established accounting procedures for all transactions.
7. Ensure all financial transactions are correct and maintains accuracy and coin for making change. Operate credit card machine correctly. Accurately calculates change due to the Guest and return appropriate amount in a timely manner.
8. Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and providing adequate napkins, etc.
9. Keeps stations and sets up clean at all times which adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
10. Perform shift change and/or opening or closing duties.
Experience and Qualifications
'N' Levels, 'O' Levels equivalent or higher
Proficiency in English Language
Competencies/Skills Set
1. Must be a team player and good in communication skills
2. Ability to handle order man and to write legible food orders when necessary
3. Customer-oriented individual who enjoys interacting with people at all times
4. Ability to operate POS, make change and accurately conduct credit card transactions and account for all monies at the end of each shift.
Physical
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the stamina to occasionally work long shifts to support operation needs. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must be able to deliver plates and may require lifting up to 30lbs occasionally.
